Description: For this lesson plan I incorporated musical theater. We look at the costume designs from The Lion King on Broadway. We went though the creative process of creating our own animal inspired costumes.

Rationale: Throughout these lessons I show that I understand how to write a variety of current age- appropriate lessons. I use instructional strategies to enhance my students learning. My photos of me teaching and my lesson plans show this.
Description: The art education program at Illinois State provides students with the opportunity to teach children in the community. We set up our own class room and make lesson plans. I had the opportunity to teach second grade for three weeks and fifth grade for two weeks.

Rationale: The photos of my class room show my organization. This shows that I understand how to organize the instructional environment to maximize students learning.
Description: For the Saturday class teaching experience my self and a partner where able to set up a classroom. For the classroom we had lots of visuals pertaining to the lesson. We also had the vocabulary words up on the board. We where able to maximize student learning with these tools.

Description: At the Illinois State art education conference (IAEA) I attended a hands on work shop where we embellished wet felting art work. I learned several new ideas to make my felt and fiber artwork even better.

Rationale: Going to this conference I show my understanding of the need to continue my studies.
Description: At IAEA conference I attended a panel talking about graffiti art work in the class room. We went over several ideas for lesson plans.

Description: The student chapter of the National Art Education Association promoted art in the community. We did this by an activity at the Sweet Corn Festival. We make corn husk pencil toppers.

Description: I volunteered at the Children's Discovery Museum. I lead several free art programming activity. I worked with Nicole Learned the head art educator at the Children's Discovery Museum. Together we planed and gathered supply for me to use for the program.
